My Saturday Night Make Up Look

As I got great feedback from My Saturday Make Up look post the other week, I have decided to do the same for this weekend. On Saturday I had attended my cousins reception party, which was great fun :D! It was an Indian reception party and therefore I wore a saree with a sparkly gold blouse due to this I wanted to keep my make up simplish.

1) Applied Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the shade 25 all over my lid first as my lids are a little dark. This also allows the eye shadow to pop out more!

2) I used Sleeks Divine Shadow Collection. It does not state the colours of each shadow. But according to the photo below I used number 1 all over my lid. This shade is a lovely metallic bronze colour. I then used number 2 which is a matt black colour. I made a side wards V shape on the edge of my lids and then blended both colours together in the middle.

3)Applied Rimmel London Exaggerate liquid eyeliner in black and created a wing look effect. This is a great eye liner, it is easy to apply and does not irritate my sensitive eyes.

4) Curled my top eyelashes and applied Maybelline The Collossal Go Extreme Mascara in Black.

1) Smashbox Photo finish primer applied everywhere

2) Applied EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation in the shade F300 – I LOVE LOVE LOVE this foundation. For those that read my blog you would know I am always trying to find my perfect foundation! Being Indian with beige and yellow undertones it can be tricky finding a perfect much. I found this foundation out of chance, usually I like to check reviews out before purchasing but I was in store at Make Up Guru based in Kensington London. As soon as I tried this I loved it. The colour, texture, staying power, coverage etc  is pretty much perfect!! I will go into more detail about this foundation soon. It is so amazing it needs a detailed post!!

3)Ben Nye Banana Powder – another product that I am absolutely loving atm and again needs a detailed post on it soon! I apply this on areas that need highlighting – under the eyes, bridge of nose, chin, and forehead. I apply this with my beauty blender dupe. This powder brightens areas of your face and keeps your make up and oil control at bay! Best powder I have tried by far!

4) Sleek Face Form kit in Medium – I used the bronzer and highlighter on my cheeks.

I wanted to keep my lips simple with a pretty subtle pink colour.

1) Applied Boots Natural Collection lipstick in the shade cranberry – Medium berry-pink tone lipstick.

2) I then applied L’Oreal Glam Shine in the shade Perennial Rose – Lovely rose colour with some shimmer – perfect for an evening look and the shimmer flowed nicely with my shimmery saree blouse and eye shadow.

My Saturday Night Make Up Look

Hi Everyone, The above photo was taken on Saturday night, If you like this DRUGSTORE look and wish to create this your self then please read on as I will list the products I had used.

1)Moisturized my face with Cetaphil Moisturising Cream – This is great if you suffer from dry skin.

2)Applied Smashbox Photo Finish Primer on to my face, only a pea amount is needed. This helps to keep my foundation to last longer.

3)SmashBox Studio Skin 15Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation (Sample Size) – This foundation is great, it oil free, it last all night with a medium coverage that looks natural. I only had to re apply powder once therefore it is pretty shine free. I will be purchasing the full size. For reference I wore shade 3.1 which is a decent match for my skin tone. I have not found any blog reviews on this shade therefore I will do one as soon as a purchase the full size.

4) Applied Maybelline Fit Me concealer in shade 25 – I use this as a concealer highlighter – I applied this under my eyes, bridge of my nose and the arch my my eyebrows.

5) Applied Maybelline SuperStay 24H Waterproof Powder in shade 30 Sand on my T-Zone area- This pressed powder compact is very long lasting, usually only have to reapply this once through the day. Gives me a shine free face. However if I apply too much of this, it does appear ashy as there is not enough yellow tones in this powder. I really want to try Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder (Kim Kardashians HG highlighting powder), but it is very hard to get hold of 😦 – If anyone knows an inexpensive place in the UK to purchase this let me know please!

6) Applied Sleek Face Form Kit in Medium – As you know I am loving contouring ATM. On Satuday I only did a light contour as my hair was covering half my face anyways. Applied the dark powder just with a light hand on the hallow of my cheeks and applied the highlighter on the top of my cheek bone.

1) W7 In The Buff – As you know I LOVE this eyeshadow palette, please click for full review here. I had applied the shade Camel all over my lid. I wanted a sutle light colour for my lids as I wanted to go for a bold lip.

2) Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner – Applied this on the top of my eyelash line with a wing. Please click for full review of this product here.

3)Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Mascara in Leather Black – I am usually a fan of Loreal Mascara’s but this one was on offer for only £5 at Superdrug. It is indeed an intense black colour. It does lengthen and volumise my lashes however it can easily look clumpy if I apply to much product.

1) Applied Aquaphour lip therapy on my lips.

2) Applied Sally Hansen Inivisible Lip Liner – This is Amazing! It makes my lipsticks last so much longer and prevents them from bleeding.  Please click here for full review.

3) Appled Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in shade Glam Plum Fulham 470 – This lipstick is perfect for Autumn and night outs. It is a lovely deep plum/ dark red colour. I don’t usually like dark colours as I can not pull the ‘vamp look’ off, but this colour does not make me look vampy but like it states ‘glam’.

Sigma F88 Flat Angled Kabuki Brush –  I love this brush! I used this to apply my foundation.

Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush –  This is from the core collection kit. I used this to apply my concealer as it is a small pointed brush great for under the eyes. I feel it is far too small to be used as a foundation brush.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush – Again from the core collection kit. I used this to apply my powder as I can really buff the powder into my skin. Some like to use this brush for foundation, but I enjoy using this for powder as it is not too big and can reach smaller areas such as under the eyes and nose.

Ecotool Tapered Brush I use this to apply my contour and highlighting. Also great for applying blusher.

Real Techniques Shading Brush – I use this brush to apply my eyeshadow. The bristles are very soft however I find this brush too big  if I wanted to blend two colours on my eyelid but it is perfectly fine to apply one colour or a base colour.

Maybelline Eyeliner Brush –  This came with my Maybelline Gel Eyeliner – I enjoy using this brush.

1) Treseme Heat Defence Styling Spray – I must always use a heat defence before applying any heat products on my hair – it really prevents extra damaging!

2)Aussie Mircke Recharge Assome Volume – I spray this on the roots of my hair to create volume. I would not say this is an amazing product. It does provide me a little volume however it does not last all day. Nevertheless the product smells amazing!

3) GHD’s – This is my HG heat product, I can not live without them. I use it for straightening and curling my hair.  In this post I have curled my hair with them. They give me beautiful curls. I have used a wand and Tongs before but the curls don’t come out as nice nor last as long compared to using my GHD’s.  GHD’s last for years, I have been using these for 11 years and this is only my second GHD I had to purchase. My first one broke at University halls, I am not sure whether it was a technical fault or just my fault with a drunken night LOL 😛 !

4) L’Oreal Elnett Supereme Hold Very Volume –  I applied this hair spray all over and a little on my roots to give my hair an extra ‘lift’. This hair spray does provide some volume and good hold for most the night!  It gave my curls a lovely ‘bounce’. It does not make my hair feel like glue after neither!!

All these products can be found in Drugstores, I had purchased these products from Boots and Superdrugs. Apart from my GHD’s those were purchased from a Salon. Please feel free to ask any questions about my Saturday night look or any of the products mentioned above.

P.S – Dress was purchased from Bershka a couple years back. However, I have seen something similar in branch recently.

Sleek Face Form Contouring And Blush Palette Review + Swatches

Ever since Kim Kardasian has released her contouring routine everyone wants to try it. I mean why not? As it can transform someones entire look by just defining areas of your face! I have finally hit the contouring band wagon and wanted to try this out.

As I have never contoured before I wanted to start off at the beginners stage. I have heard using a powder form will be the easiest  to use. I have picked up the Sleek Face Form Contouring And Blush Palette in the shade Medium 374.

The packaging is very ‘sleek’, the kit is presented in a black sturdy elegant plastic packaging with the logo on top. The packaging is very light and contains 20g of product inside. When you open the kit everything is in place ( some kits that contains powders are just so messy and go everywhere). There is a lovely large mirror on one side of the lid, this is very handy if you are traveling.

This kit is available in four shades – Fair, Light, Medium and Dark. I have the shade medium, for reference I am have a light to medium brown skin tone (Mac NC 41). This shade works well for my skin tone!

Product and how to use

Within this kit 3 powders are included which are as follows:

1) Contour (left side)- A dark brown matt powder. This is very pigmented and should be used with a light hand. I use this with my Ecotools Tapered Brush and apply this to the hollows of my cheeks and around my hair line. I find the hallow of my cheeks by sucking in my mouth. Or aligning my brush from the top of my ear downwards. Please view photos below and yes I know I look funny and it looks like I am on the phone with a brush but believe me I am not that mental! (I think ha ha)

2) Highlighter (middle) – A creamy light golden shimmer powder. This is a beautiful subtle colour that gives a nice glow. I apply this on top of my cheek bones but I find it too shimmery to apply on the bridge of my nose. I prefer using a concealer in a lighter shade than my skin tone for this.

3) Bronzer (right side) – A lovely deep golden brown shimmer powder. This is very pigmented and one swipe is enough to see the bronzer. I apply this to the apple of my cheeks. In the fair and light face form kits it will contain a rose gold blush instead of a bronzer.

The magic with contouring is BLEND BLEND BLEND AND BLEND SOME MORE! You do not want to look like you have streaks of three different colours on your face.

The great thing is that all three powders are highly pigmented and are soo smooth in texture which makes this very easy to blend!

I had purchased this in store at Superdrug for £9.99. You can also purchase this for the same price online on Sleeks website, please click here.

Overall verdict

I would give this product 4 out of 5 stars. This because this contour kit has all the basic needs for a beginner, great quality and highly pigmented. However, I am still learning to contour, I have not been wowed by the results of this product yet. I can see the difference with my face becoming more defined on my cheek bones but I think I need some more practicing.

Has anyone else tried Sleeks Face Form kit?

Has anyone tried using liquids for contouring? – I would like to try this out next time.

B.Glowing Shimmer Block review

So the sun is back out in England. In the summer I much prefer the glowy dewy look. I was searching everywhere in The Body Shop, Boots and Superdrug for a budget blusher that had a nice gold shimmer to it. However most that did appear to have gold in them, when tested on my cheeks the gold shimmers were no longer visible. I just wanted a natural healthy glow to my cheeks. I then stumbled upon B. Glowing shimmer block in shade 161 Just Peachy and it gave me my healthy natural golden glow :D. I had purchased this for £7.99 from Superdrug. Click here to purchase.

20140713-135359-50039828.jpg       20140713-135401-50041334.jpg

The packaging is a dark grey plastic round small tub, with a clear plastic top with the logo. Very basic and straight to the point, nothing special about it. Especially as these days blushers tend to come with a brush and/or a mirror inside.

Each strip colour

Each strip colour

Brush swirled around all colours

Brush swirled around all colours

The colours are a mixture of peach, pink, coral and gold. This automatically makes me think of summer and is just a beautiful combination. You can either use each strip on its own or swirl your brush around and use all the colours, I prefer this!

As you can see in the photo, it gives this lovely glow, it is not overly pigmented but I prefer the more natural subtle look. If I do want a bit more colour I simply use this on top of another blush. Some may prefer using this as a highlighter. The gold shimmer/sheen is just the right amount too. The staying power is fairly good, lasts all day for me. However if I do end up touching my face a lot it does seem to fade off quickly.

The only negative point I have to raise is that the blush is very ‘powdery’, the powder is quite loose and because of this, even for a natural look I still need to apply it two or three times. However the end results are fab and worth that little extra application!

In case your wondering, in the photo i am wearing a lovely bronzey/peachy/golden shimmer type of lipstick, it matches very well with this blusher. It is Rimmel moisture renew lipstick in shade 650. I have done a review on this previously, please click here for more details.

overall verdict: I am loving this blush for the summer and highly recommend it to anyone.

Also at the moment, B is giving out free gifts when you spend over £5 of there products!! 😀 These are miniature sample versions. I was very excited to check these out, who can say no to free make up gifts?!

What is included in the gift box are:

B.Stunning vibrant Eye Shimmer – Copper

B. Rich Intense Colour Lipstick – shade eton mess.

B.Radiant Rejuvenating Serum.

B. Active Day Cream SPF 15

B. Pure Micellar Water.

This will just be a quick review to high light what I liked and disliked.

I love love love this eye shadow! A lovely copper bronze colour, it is a cream eye shadow with a slight gold shimmer paired up with my new blusher and Rimmel lipstick in shade 650, it just gave a full glow look to my whole  face. It also looks very natural as you can see below.

Me wearing the eye shadow.

Me wearing the eye shadow.

I actually already have this lipstick colour and worn it plenty of times. It is a nice natural pink colour that will go with most fair to medium skin tones.

Something that is new to me is the Pure Micellar Water. I had googled this product and saw that Micellar waters are actually a big thing at the moment. It is supposed to remove make up effortlessly without harming your skin! I had tried this and the claims are true, my face did not react to the product nor did I feel any tightness, however there was a slight residue left on my face. I have heard the L’oreal Micellar water is even better as it does not leave any residue therefore that one will be on my bucket list!

I was not impressed by the active day cream it was not moisturising enough and I could not really tell if the radiant rejuvenating serum worked and it had irritated my skin a little.

Bourjois Blush Shade 72 Tomette & Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick Shade 650 Review.

Who said the warm golden shades of make up is only for summer. I personally think they look great all year round and can suit many skin tones especially tanned skinned. I have always wanted a blusher/bronzer that can match well with a warm toned lipstick. I have picked up the Bourjois Paris Blush in shade 72 Tomette and Rimmel’s Moisture Renew lipstick in shade 650 – Saved By The Bell.

Bourjois Blush comes in a lovely cute round pot. Inside contains a mirror and a blusher brush, however I am not very keen on the brush and much prefer to use my own.

Tomette is a nice warm peachy brown colour with a subtle gold shimmer, the gold shimmer is less visible once applied to my cheeks. The colour is very rich and pigmented; I find it to be highly pigmented and over powering as I much prefer a subtle look with my make up. Therefore I only need to apply a small amount, if I accidentally put a touch more it looks like I have over done it, so you need to be quite light handed whilst applying this blusher. I love how this blusher  is a great alternative to a bronzer  as some may find bronzers to be too brown/dark in colour.

Rimmel’s Moisture Renew lipstick in shade 650 comes in a nice silver and purple packaging. It is a beautiful warm apricot browny-nude lipstick with a goldish sheen. A usually prefer matt based lipsticks however I really love the sheen in this as it gives a nice natural golden sheen.

This lipstick lasts a long time on my lips without drying, in a space of 10 hours i only had to re-touch once after lunch. It is a pretty moisturising lipstick and i can see it lasting a long way.

Without flash.

With Flash.

I believe both the blusher and lipstick make a great partnership as the combination of the warm peachy brown goldish colours works fantastically together. Giving an overall natural golden glow, which is perfect when applied lightly for a day look or for an evening look when applying more of the blush along with some bronze eye shadow.

Top: Rimmel 650 Lipstick
Bottom: Bourjois Blush 72

I love these products it fabulous way to look like you have just been on holiday with the golden tan look 😀 !
