Sleek Face Form Contouring And Blush Palette Review + Swatches

Ever since Kim Kardasian has released her contouring routine everyone wants to try it. I mean why not? As it can transform someones entire look by just defining areas of your face! I have finally hit the contouring band wagon and wanted to try this out.

As I have never contoured before I wanted to start off at the beginners stage. I have heard using a powder form will be the easiest  to use. I have picked up the Sleek Face Form Contouring And Blush Palette in the shade Medium 374.

The packaging is very ‘sleek’, the kit is presented in a black sturdy elegant plastic packaging with the logo on top. The packaging is very light and contains 20g of product inside. When you open the kit everything is in place ( some kits that contains powders are just so messy and go everywhere). There is a lovely large mirror on one side of the lid, this is very handy if you are traveling.

This kit is available in four shades – Fair, Light, Medium and Dark. I have the shade medium, for reference I am have a light to medium brown skin tone (Mac NC 41). This shade works well for my skin tone!

Product and how to use

Within this kit 3 powders are included which are as follows:

1) Contour (left side)- A dark brown matt powder. This is very pigmented and should be used with a light hand. I use this with my Ecotools Tapered Brush and apply this to the hollows of my cheeks and around my hair line. I find the hallow of my cheeks by sucking in my mouth. Or aligning my brush from the top of my ear downwards. Please view photos below and yes I know I look funny and it looks like I am on the phone with a brush but believe me I am not that mental! (I think ha ha)

2) Highlighter (middle) – A creamy light golden shimmer powder. This is a beautiful subtle colour that gives a nice glow. I apply this on top of my cheek bones but I find it too shimmery to apply on the bridge of my nose. I prefer using a concealer in a lighter shade than my skin tone for this.

3) Bronzer (right side) – A lovely deep golden brown shimmer powder. This is very pigmented and one swipe is enough to see the bronzer. I apply this to the apple of my cheeks. In the fair and light face form kits it will contain a rose gold blush instead of a bronzer.

The magic with contouring is BLEND BLEND BLEND AND BLEND SOME MORE! You do not want to look like you have streaks of three different colours on your face.

The great thing is that all three powders are highly pigmented and are soo smooth in texture which makes this very easy to blend!

I had purchased this in store at Superdrug for £9.99. You can also purchase this for the same price online on Sleeks website, please click here.

Overall verdict

I would give this product 4 out of 5 stars. This because this contour kit has all the basic needs for a beginner, great quality and highly pigmented. However, I am still learning to contour, I have not been wowed by the results of this product yet. I can see the difference with my face becoming more defined on my cheek bones but I think I need some more practicing.

Has anyone else tried Sleeks Face Form kit?

Has anyone tried using liquids for contouring? – I would like to try this out next time.

Ecotools Tapered Blush Brush Review.

I have always used a round fluffy brush to apply my blush, but wanted to try something new. Especially as I have been learning to contour and a round brush will not be good enough for this.

I have picked up the Ecotools Tapered Blush Brush from Boots for £7.99 (a very decent price!)

Firstly, all ecotools are cruelty free and earth friendly. The brush hairs are made out of synthetic materials and the handle is made out of bamboo and recycled materials. Even the packaging is made out of recycled materials. It’s always nice to be earth friendly and it does look super cute!

This blush brush is tapered; the synthetic hairs are longer in the middle and shorter on the edges. The hairs on this brush are very dense and extremely soft and just the right fluffiness! This brush is very sturdy and I have washed this a few times now and no hairs have shed!

I really enjoy using this brush, due to the density of the bristles it picks up a lot of my blush/bronzer compared to my other round brushes. Therefore no product goes to waste. I particularly love this brush when contouring, it really does wonders when working with the hallow of my cheeks.

What brushes do you enjoy using when applying blush/bronzer or contouring?

This Or That Beauty Tag

I have been tagged in on the ‘This Or That Beauty Tag’ from the lovely Maybeebeauty. Her blog is amazing and I very much enjoy reading her posts, please do check her out on Thank you very much for tagging me in this game. I hope you all enjoy reading my This or That beauty choices: D

 Blush or Bronzer?

Mmmmm I like them both equally, however ATM I am reaching for my bronzer a lot more though!

 Lipgloss or Lipstick?

I am definitely a lipstick girl. I find them longer lasting, plus I hate that sticky feeling from a lip gloss! My Fav lippy atm is Soap and Glory Fabulipstick in the shade Pom Pom – perfect now as we are hitting Autumn. However on special occasions I  do also reach for a lip gloss, my fav is L’Oreal Glam Shine.

 Chapstick or Lip butter?

I actually use either, as I have extremely dry lips that I tend to use aquaphour or balms. So, if I had to choose one it will be a lip butter as that’s more nourishing out the two.

 Matt or sparkle eye shadow?

Sparkle/shimmer! As I mainly wear eye shadow on special occasions and night outs! It gives a nice glamour look to my night!

Pressed or loose shadows?

I much prefer a press powder, I feel they hold together much better and longer lasting!

Gel, liquid, cream or pencil eye liner?

Gel! I am loving my Maybelline gel eye liner atm. It gives me a much more dramatic look compared to a pencil.

Foundation or concealer?

This has to be the easiest choice in this quiz… Foundation!! I can not live without my foundation. If the odd blemish needs concealing, I often just dab more foundation on those areas rather than reaching out for my concealer when in a rush.

Liquid or powder foundation?

I have never tried a powder foundation so my pick will have to be liquid as I can not compare the both. Any feedback with those who has used a powder foundation would be great.

Neutral or statement eye?

I usually go for a neutral eye look e.g., gold’s, creams and browns. I don’t think I can pull of anything else. My favourite neutral eye shadow palette is W7 In The Buff, please click here for my review.

Waterproof or non waterproof mascara?

I am probably one of the very few who prefers non waterproof mascaras. My eyes do not get oily and I do not suffer from smudges. When I tried a waterproof mascara it made no difference to me apart from taking twice as long to remove!

Brushes, Sponges or fingers?

Brushes are my favourite, I tend to get better flawless results when using one. My fav brush right now is my Sigma F88 flat angled kabuki brush, please click here for my full review.

Powder, cream or liquid highlighters?

I enjoy using a powder highlighter as I find this quicker and easier to apply than the above. I have enjoyed using B. Glowing Shimmer Block  as a highlighter on my upper cheek area, please click for the full review here. I have also recently brought Sleek’s Face Form kit in the shade Medium and this comes with a beautiful highlighter that I enjoy using.

I have tagged the following people to continue this game; it is really fun and interesting to see what other bloggers write! Remember to let me know once you have completed this as it will be lovely to read what you’re This or That choices are! 😀

Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabu Lipstick

I am not usually a Matt lipstick fan, as I have dry lips I much prefer moisturising lippies! However, I have been looking for a deep pink lipstick for some while now. I have never purchased a Soap & Glory product before but I fell in love with this colour shade Pom Pom instantly!

Soap & Glory states that this lipstick has “Moisturizing orchid extract, vitamin E, 3-D plump peptide complex and a powdercoat matt finish”. Dermatologically tested.

I personally believe all the above description is true because this is not a typical matt lipstick that dried up my lips, its in fact moisturising yet very long lasting and glides very smoothly on my lips. If you are like me and have a bad experience with matt lipsticks such as Mac Ruby Woo, you may want to try Soap & Glory as this has very much converted me too a matt lipstick. In addition, I have had a few comments where people have noticed my lips looked a little fuller this could be due to the 3D plump peptide complex!

The packing of this product is soo beautiful, it comes in a matt thick black plastic case, it is a little heavier than other lipsticks but this makes it seem more superior! I also love how it has S&G embossed on the lipstick. This lipstick is a little expensive for a high street brand costing me £9 from Boots, however all these small high end like qualities definitely makes it well worth the price.

The shade Pom Pom is a lovely deep pink colour that has blue based undertones which is great for making your teeth look whiter! This shade is dark enough to wear at night but also not too dark to wear through the day. It is also bright enough to wear in the summer but also deep enough to wear in autumn/winter. Therefore it is a pretty good all round lipstick. Also,  This lipstick is very pigmented in just one wipe there is a  good amount of colour on my lips!

I absolutely love this lipstick, it is a moisturising matt finish lipstick that does not dry or make my lips look dry. It is very long lasting that comes in a beauty packaging, oh and if that is not already all good enough this lipstick also smells gorgeous, with a lovely vanilla scent.

Overall Verdict : Do I need to say more about this product? I can not fault this product therefore I would give this 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend anyone looking for a deep pink lipstick to wear all year round!! 😀
