MUA £1 Lipstick Review

mua 15 (2)

I have been wanting to write a review on MUA lipsticks for some while now as I think every female should own one. Make Up Academy also known as MUA had released £1 lipsticks… YES that’s right £1!! At this unbelievable price it is suited for all, even for those on a tight budget! Their varied range of colours also makes it perfect to find a shade to suit all, from bright to subtle colours to sheen to semi- matt based lipsticks etc. I had purchased mine from Superdrug, they are also available from the MUA website, please click here to purchase.

The four colours/shades I have purchased are as seen above. Shade 6, shade 7, shade 10 and shade 13. These are the colours that I enjoy wearing, however if they are not to your taste then there is a lot more other colours available. In fact 16 colours to choose from there range.

I love the packaging to these lipsticks as they are cute and pretty. The colour of the lipstick is shown on the top of the lid. This very lid is what makes this product stand out as it works as a lipstick/lip balm compote. You twist it open and you have your self some extra lipstick! This is great if u prefer to apply your lipstick with your finger or lip brush.

Shade 6

Shade 6 is like a pinky/rosewood sheen colour, with a frosted touch to it. I usually dislike frosted lipstick but this one seems to suit me.

Shade 7

Shade 7 is one of my favourite wears for the summer. It is a lovely pinky coral with a hint of orange colour with a subtle sheen. It is a colour that would suit most skin tones and gives a very nice overall summer glow to your face.

Shade 10

Shade 10 is a browny/ dark maroon sheen based lipstick. Out of the four this is my least favourite lipstick as I do not usually wear brown colour lipsticks a lot. However the great thing about £1 lipstick it allows u to afford a collection of colours you wouldn’t usually go for even if you wear it a few times!

Shade 13

Shade 13 is a bold vibrant red colour with a semi-matt base. This is my new favourite colour to wear on a night out. I never use to wear bold bright colours but now I love this statement lipstick!!

Some may question the wear of a cheap lipstick. But do not fear girls, just because the price is cheap it does not mean the lipstick is also. This lipstick lasts for hours. I have worn them all day with just having to touch up after I eat. They are easy to apply, buildable, fairly moisturising and not drying. Very reasonable! I will definitely be heading out to by some more colours!

Overall Verdict: I love this product! – 16 various colours, long wear, great packaging and great price!! 5 stars all round * * * * *

L’Oreal Latest Products For Jan 2014!!

Start of the New Year I wanted to check out any new make products. So I hopped into my local Superdrug and found a couple of new L’oreal products that caught my eye. 1) L’Oreal Glam Shine in 912 Sin For Peach. 2) L’Oreal Miss Manga Mega Volume Mascara.

L’Oreal Glam Shine in 912 Sin For Peach.

L’Oreal have released a balm with colour. I have seen similar products with other makes, but have tried and tested and have not been happy as the colours barely show through. However L’oreal has created a balm which is very moisturising yet the colour is apparent.

photo 5 (2)

The balm looks like a crayon pen that you twist to use. It is very easy to use and apply. What I love about this balm is the high gloss shine it gives. It looks like you are wearing something somewhat in-between a lipstick and a lip gloss. The colour I have picked is Sin For Peach, however I would not say this is a peachy colour as it more pink based. It looks very natural with a nice shine! It is also on offer for £4.99 at Superdrug!

L’Oreal Miss Manga Mega Volume Mascara.

Im a sucker for trying out the latest mascara, I saw L’oreal Miss Managa on offer for £5.99 at Superdrug and decided to give it a try.

The packaging is very cute with a blend of pink and black. The brush it self is not what I usually go for as I prefer a Comb brush such as my favourite L’oreal Volume Million Lashes. Nevertheless, this brush did a good job and in somewhat ways I prefer it over the Volume Million Lashes due to the narrow small end which is great for your inner lashes.

photo 4(3)

This mascara does what it claims as it sure does volumize your lashes. It made mine look longer and fuller! The negative point about this mascara is that it’s a little clumpy when you apply a second coat.

Overal look with L’Oreal Glam Shine in 912 Sin For Peach and L’Oreal Miss Manga Mega Volume Mascara. As you can see, the end result is a nice natural finish i would use this look for causal days out or for work.

Winter Skincare

The chilly months have arrived! This cold weather tends to take a toll on my skin. Making both my skin and lips drier. I have been using a few products lately that I can highly recommend for dry winter skin.

Eucerin Aquaphor – Healing Ointment.

photo 1

Aquaphor is a great product to use for chapped lips, a little goes a long way. I have been using Aquaphour for 10 months so far and still have product left in this tube I am guessing it will last another 3 months. The reason that this last’s so long is because I don’t need to use a lot of this product, I only need to apply this three times a day morning, after lunch and evening. I can feel my lips are moisturised unlike Vaseline where I find my self constantly applying it every 30mins as they constantly get dry again.

photo 3(1)

What makes this product amazing is that you can use this for animal bites, cuts and serious burns due to the fact it is a skin protectant ointment which helps heal your skin.

Aquaphour comes in a generous 40ml size tube which can be purchased at Boots for £6.37. Please click here.

Cetaphill – Moisturising Cream

photo 1(1)

I absolutely love this cream! It does wonders for my dry sensitive skin. My face is extremely sensitive and has reactions with creams that have fragrances/alcohol. Cetaphil is fragrance free and non-comedogenic which helps not to block your pours. After massaging a small amount on to my face, my face feels soft and re-freshened. I apply this twice a day morning and night.

photo 2(1)

Purchased a 100g tube from Boots for £10.09. Please click here.

Dr Organic – Organic Vitamin E Pure Oil.

photo 4

I have just recently brought this product. I had originally brought this oil for scars, as I have heard vitamin e oils are great for fading scars away. I can not comment if this has worked yet but will do an update in a few months for you guys. However, what I can say is that it has helped made my skin tone become more even and is a great body moisturiser. Unlike other oils, this is not greasy and thanks to a small nozzle only a few drops can disperse at a time – without getting oil all over the place!

photo 2

Purchased a 50ml bottle from Holland and Barrett for £8.49. Please click here.

Verdict: I would highly recommend these products, they have worked well for me and I am now on my second tube of Cetaphil.
